Children’s museum in Rome: Explore!

Travelling in Rome with the family? Trying to think of an itinerary not too trying for your chidren’s patience? What else is there really to see in Rome except all those magnicent, but so ancient, ruins…? Well, there is for example the Explora (Latin for “Explore!”), the children’s museum where it is, on the contrary to the rest of the museums, “forbidden NOT to touch” and which guarantees a very concrete cultural experience even for the youngest members of the family! The museum is located near Piazza del Popolo in the center of Rome, in Via Flaminia 82, and to get there you take the metro line A to Flaminio or one of the following buses: 495, 628, 92, 490, 88. For the opening hours and ticket prices and reservations see the home page of the museum; for bus schedules see the site of the ATAC; for child-friendly accomodation in Rome try this hotel with easy connections to the museum.
And to plan something really memorable for your children, remember that the museum even organises birthday parties with or without catering, and, of course, guided visits to school classes or any other groups.
Keep in mind, though, that adults are not allowed in unless accompanied by children, no matter how young at heart!
