Since he was ten years old, he was obsessed with incomprehensible temples and colorful pictures of life, which he sought to have come from another, a perfect society. image
Over the time, Oberto realized that his task was to translate what he saw in a real life. There were no plans, no architectural and art researches – they simply dug and carved the soil for a nearly thirteen years.
Eight rooms were almost ready, when in 1991, their work was interrupted by another visit and police officials, who finally firmly decided to You can imagine police officers who entered through a secret door into one of the halls, which is now called Hall of Earth. The visit to magic Turin will last about three hours and may be held both during daytime that evening.
But Damanhur not be completed to make you understand the mysteries of magic city and will continue in your company with another trip beyond the time leading into the Egyptian Museum.

Second only to the Cairo Museum, both from the point of view that magical archaeological, however, is the most important in the world in terms esoteric. Through the secrets contained in his “mysterious” magic salt … the Egyptian Museum in Turin contains pages of the history of Egypt and the mysterious connection to the mythical Atlantis before us speaks the philosopher Plato in his “Dialogues.” Walking along you will see the mysteries unveilled of the ancient statues still laden with mysterious energy that transmit to visitors. Energies “on the move following the lunar cycles, and are prepared to awaken in you the memories of other lives.

Rome ’s seaside

Summer has arrived and summer in Rome means unbearable heat at times, so it’s a great idea to take a break from sightseeing by making a visit to one of the many beaches you find near Rome in easy reach and good for a day trip.

Ostia Beach
Be warned, you won’t find breathtaking beaches near Rome like the ones you get in other more remote area of the country, but they are beaches and they’re a blessing during the unmerciful roman summer.

As we hinted above Lazio, the region  where Rome is located, is not the natural choice when it comes to beaches, but with Rome being  a hot city in July and August the Romans have their favorite places to escape for the week end  all within driving distance and which you can reach by public transport too, and many visitors will be happy to take a dip !

Fregene near Rome

An interesting option to visit a beach while in Rome is Ostia. You’ll find it near the ruins of the ancient roman port or Ostia Antica. You can see them during the day and then during the night explore the many clubs along the beach that the romans crown during july and august. To go to Ostia Beach take the train from Piramide station and get off at "stella polare" it’s a 30-minutes trip and the tickets you use to get the subway and the buses are also valid on that train.

Another interesting option for a beach near the eternal city is Fregene. Maybe a less populated than Ostia, was once the favorite place of famous personalities like Federico Fellini or Alberto Moravia. To get there take from Termini the train to Maccarese, and from there a bus that will take you to the beach.

Santa Marinella
If you are a nostalgic of the dolce vita lifestyle and are looking for a cleaner beach, then your option has to be Santa Marinella, where many celebrities -Marlon Brando among them- used to while away summer. To get to Santa Marinella is really easy: just take the train from Termini and get off in the station Santa Marinella. The beach is near the station, and takes about one hour to get there from Rome.

As you can see, to enjoy Rome and everything it has to offer is important to stay in a place with a good location. Hotel Des Artistes and Yes Hotel Rome are two great options to stay in Rome if you want to get the most out of your roman holiday. Both hotels are near the Termini Station, an essential point to go to the beaches and not only !!!

ITALIAN INVENTIONS

StressItalian creativity has left many contributions not only in arts, but in science also.  This contributions have changed the way we see the world, because eyeglasses have been invented by mister Salvino D’Armate in 1280. From 1808 on until computers appeared, history have been written with typewriter, created by Pellegrino Turri. In the era of communication we don’t forget that Antonio Meucci in 1871 invented the telephone and Guglielmo Marconi the wireless telegraphy.

Further, besides this ‘’big’’ inventions we have the kind of that helps in daily life, when you have fever you use the Galileo’s thermometer Gelatocreated in 1593, when another kind of fever appears you may use the condom invented by Gabrielle Fallopio (you have hear that name for sure) in 1564. While having a beautiful promenade in Rome during the summer you take an ice cream cone, saying thanks to Italo Marconi, the inventor, or you prefer a coffee perhaps, an espresso prepared with the espresso machine of Achille Gaggia (1946).

termometroIt is not finish yet: electric battery by Alessandro Volta in 1800, vermouth by Antonio Benedetto Carpano in 1786, liposuction! In 1974 by Giorgio Fischer, the nuclear reactor by Enrico Fermi, Bartolomeo Cristofori in the early 18th century worked to invent the piano or pianoforte, in 1643 Evangelista Torricelli left us the barometer etc.

An special mention we reserve for the great Leonardo.Gaggia

Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most famous Italians of the Renaissance. He is known for his research, his art, and his intriguing inventions. One of his designs from 1483 included sketches and instructions for what would one day become a parachute. More examples of his discoveries in:

Mechanics

The scientist investigated a system of Pulleys, machines known since ancient times, for the lifting of heavy objects during the construction of yards and foundries. He proposed a Gearshift similar to that used in today’s cars and a programmable self-propelled Robotic Automobile.

Hydraulics

Using his knowledge of mechanical engineering, Leonardo designed a Paddle Vessel/Boat with Shovels an Excavator/Dredger.

Military Machinery

A Boat with a Double Hull that would stay afloat if its outer layer were breached; a submarine; a Vessel with Scythe (Escorpio) to slash an enemy ship’s sails; and a rotating single-gun Naval Cannon. Perhaps the invention with the most far-reaching consequences was an Underwater Breathing Device.

Jean Prouvé at The Ara Pacis

JP chez lui hublot

Between 20 June 2008 and 14 September 2008 , the Ara Pacis  Museum in Rome (via di Ripetta 190) hosts a traveling exhibition on the creations of one of the greatest French architects and designers of the 20th century.

Jan Prouvé developed the idea of nomadic architecture, whereby a chair was given the same iconic importance as a house, designing both with transportability in mind. His work has had a lasting impact on furniture and industrial design.  His main achievement was transferring the manufacturing technology from industry to the architecture, without losing the aesthetic qualities.

It demonstrates how Jean Prouvé (1901-1984) had a remarkable capacity to combine entrepreneurial skills with craftsmanship, design and architecture.
More than 100 of his works, executed between 1924 and the mid 70s are included in this exhibition:

Art by Jean Prouvé
50 objects of design(chairs, tables, desks, beds, lamps), architectonic elements, various architectural models as well as a rich selection of signed drawings and studies for the Péchiney pavilion in Paris.

Prouvé is considered a leading exponent of industrialized building.

Jean was born in Nancy. In Nancy in 1923 he opened what would be the first in a string of his own workshops and studios. He produced wrought iron lamps, chandeliers, hand rails and began designing furniture. In 1947 he built the Maxéville factory. After Maxéville he started "Constructions Jean Prouvé" In 1957 he started the Industrial Transport Equipment Company and built the Rotterdam Medical School, the Exhibition Center in Grenoble and the Orly Airways Terminal façade. The metal furniture of Jean Prouvé was produced copiously in every studio and workshop. Prouvé was influential in the development of the idea of nomadic architecture, likening a chair to a house, and designing both with portability in mind.He died in Nancy in 1984.
