The Stadio Olimpico, the Olympic Stadium in Rome that hosts numerous local and international events will be the venue for the Golden League Athletics Gala this year to be held on the 10th of July 2009. This Gala, that takes place every year, is part of the AF Golden league Series which includes five other meetings in Germany, Norway, France, Switzerland and Belgium. This format was created to give athletes the opportunity to compete in more meetings with repeated rivalries. In addition, if an athlete wins in their discipline in all six meetings they win a part of the 1 million US jackpot.
Not only will this event host some of the best track and field athletes of the world but it has been recognized as the best event in the world of athletics. How to get to the Olimpic Stadium in Rome : if you decide to stay in a central Rome Hotel such as Yes Hotel Rome, you can take the metro line A and get off at Ottaviano Station. From there take then bus 32 and get off at Largo T Cadorna Ostello della Gioventù, then walk for about one kilometer.
