Napoli into Italian Cup final
Napoli defeated Siena 2-0 to reach the Italian Cup final on a 3-2 aggregate and will face Juventus in the May 20 final where they will look to end their 22-year wait for silverware.
Edinson Cavani was again the star of the show as he helped Napoli to a 2-0 victory over Siena .
“This was one of the aims that we set ourselves at the beginning of the year,” Cavani said. “Siena played a great game, especially in the second half. We had to suffer, after the break they took control but we managed to resist them.
“I am happy to be in the final and to have a place in a European tournament,” said Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri.
Napoli will play in a final for the first time in 15 years.
Vucinic blasts Juventus into Italian Cup final
Juventus, unbeaten this season in Serie A and who squeezed past league leaders AC Milan in the Cup semi-finals, will play in the final on May 20.
MIRKO Vucinic scored a stunning extra-time goal to help Juventus into the Italian Cup final with a 4-3 aggregate win over AC Milan in the semi-final second leg and sent Juventus into their first Italian Cup final since 2004.
Milan had forced extra-time by leading 2-1 after 90 minutes but ultimately paid for their semi-final, first leg defeat at home .
Veteran Alessandro Del Piero had given Juve a first-half lead but second period goals from Djamel Mesbah, his first for Milan, and Maxi Lopez forced the extra period.
Vucinic’s goal ensured Juve still have not been beaten this season.
“Going through means a lot to us, we’re really proud,” said goalscorer Del Piero.
“I’m delighted for tonight, as much for my goal as for qualification.
