Crammed with Vatican intrigue and hi-tech drama, Dan Brown’s tale…
Every December there is a big public concert at the Via dei Fori Imperiali (near the Colosseum) to celebrate the end of the year: the best known Italian musicians are summoned there every year to celebrate with the Romans the capodanno.
This time the stars topping the bill are Pino Daniele and Mario Biondi. The former is well known for his blues stylings and the latter is a crooner with a Barry-White-like voice whose hit “This is what You Are” will knock you off your socks (dig Fabrizio Bozzo’s beatifully relaxed solo!)
Singers Georgia, Nina Zilli and Emma Marrone will be performing after midnight. Georgia is a well established house name in Italy while Zilli is an up-and-coming talent with a soulful voice. Check her here in all her majesty.
The concert will start at 22.30 and a great audience is expected, so if good music and big crowds are your cup of tea, this will be your ideal New Year’s Eve.
Have a jazzy, soulful, bluesy (but not too much!) 2013 and stay tuned for more news about the Eternal City and accomodation in Rome.
