Thought folk was dead? Think twice. A new generation of indipendent rock musicians is taking the folk aesthetic for a spin, with interesting -and refresing- results.
Take Mumford & Sons, for example. Their look evokes that of a grassroots band and their music has a feeling of communal ecstasy to it- quite different from the individualistic rebellion we are used to expect from rock musicians. If you don’t believe me you can check this video and watch the joyful spasms of their bass player who seems to be channelling the spirit of a jazz musician.
