UNDERWATER ROME: A HIGH-TECH AQUARIUM COMING SOON

UNDERWATER ROME: A HIGH-TECH AQUARIUM COMING SOON

Unlike many other capitals, Rome was missing a city aquarium worthy of the name. That’s why June 2015 is looked at as a landmark: Mediterraneum – The Aquarium of Rome will be finally inaugurated. The 16000 square meters structure – which requested several years of works – spreads completely under the EUR lake and consists of two sections: the traditional one, with living fishes, and the experimental one, where scientific research as well as educational activities will be pursued. It will particularly include an area for 3D shows and tanks where high-tech robot-fishes will be swimming. Visitors will enjoy the underwater nature trail from within sophisticated acrylic tunnels.

BODY WORLDS – The Cycle of Life back in Rome

BODY WORLDS – The Cycle of Life back in Rome

German anatomist Gunther von Hagens proudly brings back to Italy one of the most controversial exhibitions of the past decade: BODY WORLDS – “The Cycle of Life”, from October 2014 till February 2015 in Rome. Thanks to a unique procedure of body preservation named “plastination”, the itinerary explores complexity, resistance and decay of human body throughout the observation of true corpses in flesh and bone disposed in lively (and even funny at times!) poses.
Everything but a macabre display: rather an original hymn to health and life!
